Internal Regulations

 

  • These regulations apply to all training activities, of any type and nature, conducted at the Porto de Leixões Training Centre.

  • The training activities of the Porto de Leixões Training Centre are developed in, among others, the following areas:

    • Training for APDL, S.A. staff
    • Training for the Leixões Port Community, specifically for companies and entities operating within the port
    • Training for other ports or entities
    • Partnerships with IEFP – Institute for Employment and
    • Vocational Training, within the framework of national training programs
    • Training as part of Cooperation, offering training and technical assistance to the majority of ports in Portuguese-speaking African countries
    • Partnership with UNCTAD – United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, for the implementation of programs and seminars aimed at port executives from developing countries

     

  • Enrollment in any training activity must be requested and formalized by sending the respective registration form or by expressing interest in writing to the following contacts:

    3.1 Registrations will only become effective once accepted and confirmed by the Training Centre, which reserves the right to carry out a preliminary review and selection based on criteria appropriate to the specificity and objectives of each course.

    3.2 The Centre's Management may refuse the registration of candidates who do not fit the target audience of the activity, particularly due to a lack of required qualifications or insufficient professional background.

  • 4.1 For reasons beyond our control, there may be changes to the schedule, timetable, and trainers, without prejudice to the defined objectives of each activity.

    4.2 Each course or activity may have a maximum number of participants, respecting the order of registration in case of excess. Participants not admitted for this reason will have priority if the same course is repeated.

    4.3 At the end of each activity/course, a Certificate will be issued to validate attendance, provided the participant has met the performance requirements and the number of absences has not exceeded the established limits for that course. In the case of non-performance or withdrawal, a statement regarding the attendance situation may be issued.

    4.4 Whenever any course is interrupted for reasons not attributable to the participants, the remaining sessions will be rescheduled and completed at no extra cost to the participants.

  • The cost of each registration is as indicated in the promotional programme for the respective activity, and the payment methods are mentioned in the registration form.

    When a registration fee applies, it should be settled after receiving the corresponding invoice, which will be issued during or at the end of the activity.

    Payment is only required if the course/activity is actually attended.

  • Any occurrence or incident during the training must be reported to the Training Centre Management, which will prepare an Occurrence Report and take appropriate measures as deemed necessary.

    Any complaints should be submitted in writing to the Centre's Management, specifying the concrete reasons for the complaint.

    Decisions made by the Centre's Management may be appealed to the Board of Directors of APDL, S.A.

     

  • 7.1. Rights
    Participants have the right to:

    Participate in the activity and receive training according to the established programmes.
    Receive all documentation related to the attended course.
    Obtain a Training Certificate if they meet the performance criteria and achieve the minimum attendance required.

    7.2. Duties
    Participants are committed to:

    Attend the activity regularly and punctually, aiming to acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge provided.
    Use the equipment and facilities properly and ensure their good maintenance.
    Treat trainers, other participants, and the representatives and staff of the Training Centre with courtesy during the training.
    Follow safety, hygiene, and health regulations as determined by the conditions of the training.

  • 8.1. Rights
    Trainers have the right to:

    Use the pedagogical equipment they need for training, provided that it is available.
    Receive fees for their services according to established rates or pre-agreed conditions.
    Obtain documentation certifying their role as a trainer for the activities conducted at the Training Centre.

    8.2. Duties
    Trainers are committed to:

    Cooperate with the training entity in the technical and pedagogical design of the training activity and in evaluating the training process.
    Deliver the contracted services with diligence and competence, and collaborate with the training entity, participants, and other stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the training activity.
    Use equipment and facilities properly and ensure their good maintenance.
    Fulfil their trainer obligations with regularity and punctuality.
    Prepare the necessary pedagogical materials and documents for each training activity, which are part of the technical-pedagogical process.

  • Enrollment in any course or activity implies the participant's acceptance of these regulations.
