Measures Implemented in Cargo Handling Operations

To minimize the impacts related to dust production and noise, APDL has implemented the following procedures:

Regular Spraying with Fresh Water: Goods susceptible to emitting dust that can be moistened (such as agricultural products or pellets, which cannot be wetted due to their nature) are regularly sprayed with fresh water.

Daily Cleaning: The port’s embankments and roadways are cleaned daily.

Crane Boom Height Control: The height of the crane booms during cargo unloading is controlled.

Dust Containment Barrier: A reinforced container barrier is used to delimit the deposit area and contain dust.

Wind Break Structure: A metal frame and fabric structure called a "wind break" are used to prevent the spread of dust.

Geotextile Cover: A geotextile blanket is used to cover bulk materials and glass to prevent dust and odor dispersion.

Restriction of Cargo Movement: Some cargoes are restricted to areas within the container barrier limits.
