Ensuring Safety Conditions in Port Work Activity

In collaboration with the most relevant stakeholders, including concessionaires, port labor, and transporters, APDL ensures a continuous monitoring service of port activity within the scope of Safety, Hygiene, and Occupational Health (SHOH), aiming to promote a reinforced safety culture and thereby improve the image of the Port of Leixões.

Through joint work, the type of SHOH service organization was characterized, identifying the respective responsible parties for this area. Knowledge of terminal safety and emergency plans was developed, identifying the main hazards and risks and sources of accidents, as well as risk assessments and existing preventive and corrective action plans.

Since the beginning of 2012, a systematic regime of monitoring and auditing of working conditions in terms of safety and health has been in place at the Port of Leixões.

As part of this project, two procedures were prepared:

Procedure for Alcohol Testing at the Port of Leixões

Procedure for Minimum Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the Port Area

Specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Leixões Oil Terminal
