MV Niledutch Antwerpen Calls Leixões on its Maiden Voyage

On May 1, the Port of Leixões welcomed NILEDUTCH ANTWERPEN container ship on its maiden voyage.

 

The naming ceremony of the ship was held on Friday 24 April 2015, at IMT Terminals in Antwerp, Belgium. NILEDUTCH ANTWERPEN is the third of four container ships built by NILEDUTCH and designed to offer an improved service to key markets in West Africa.

 

The dimensions and deck equipment of NILEDUTCH ANTWERPEN are tailored to the ports it will serve in West Africa. It has a capacity of 3 510 TEU (1 530 in the holds and 1 980 on the hatch covers). The efficient 20 000 kW engines will ensure operational efficiency and a low environmental impact. The ship have a length over all of 224 metres, beam (width) of 34.8 metres and draft of 12.5 metres, operating on NILEDUTCH 's busy West Africa - Far East rotation.
