Port of Leixões handled 18.3 million tons of commodities

ALMOST ALL CARGO SEGMENTS INCREASE LAST YEAR

In 2016, the Port of Leixões handled 18.3 million tons of commodities, slightly less than last year (-2.7%) caused by the fall of 10.8% in Liquid Bulk mainly due to maintenance works of the Monobuoy Ocean Terminal for a considerable period of time.

However, most of the cargo segments had increased. Ro-Ro Cargo increased 18.9%, Break Bulk Cargo increased 4.5% and Containerized Cargo increased 6.6%, compared to the previous year.

Conversely, the Solid Bulk Cargo decreased 7.2% over last year.
