APDL promotes social responsibility policy and welcomed a special group of visitors
This initiative is part of the corporate volunteer program of the APDL
APDL has been developing a set of initiatives within its social responsibility policy. Therefore, on July 9 the Port of Leixões welcomed a group of 40 visitors from the ARDAD - Association of the Douro Region to Support the Disabled, which is a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, based in Peso da Regua, whose main objective is reflected in the overall well-being of individuals with disabilities through vocational training.
Every year, the Port of Leixões opens its doors to several institutions providing them a different day. The group had the oportunity to visit the Porto Cruise Terminal and were also invited to have lunch in our canteen, always accompanied by our volunteers.
"Providing a pleasant day and contributing to make a difference in the lives of these people is the main objective of these initiatives, which in the context of APDL's social responsibility policy involves a significant number of employees. On World Children's Day, we partnered with Operação Nariz Vermelho with a set of fundraising activities. Annually we performed two blood donation programs in partnership with IPST - Instituto Português do Sangue e Transplantação, not only to employees, but also to the surrounding community.", APDL.
This year, in addition to ARDAD, Leixões has already welcomed other institutions such as the 'Centro Social e Paroquial de N. S. de Fátima' from Viana do Castelo; the 'ALADI - Associação Lavrense de Apoio ao Diminuído Intelectual' from Matosinhos and also the 'CAID - Cooperativa de Apoio à Integração do Deficiente' from Santo Tirso.
