APDL has celebrated the World Book and Copyright Day
World Book and Copyright Day is a celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Each year, on 23 April, celebrations take place all over the world to recognize the magical power of books - a link between the past and the future, a bridge between generations and across cultures. On this occasion, this port authority joined this celebration and invited the Portuguese writer Patrícia Reis who presented her latest book "A construção do vazio".
The Training Centre of the Port of Leixões hosted the celebrations, which included the offer of the book, autographed by the author, to all participants.
Patrícia Reis was born in 1970, has started her career as a journalist and wrote the novels "Amor em Segunda Mão", "Morder-te o Coração", "No Silêncio de Deus" and "Antes de Ser Feliz".
23 April is a symbolic date for world literature. It is on this date in 1616 that Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors, such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K.Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo
