Mein Schiff 1 call the Port of Leixões for the first time

On September 27, the Port of Leixões welcomes the inaugural call at this port of the cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 1 from the German cruise company TUI CRUISES. The ship will dock at the new Oporto Cruise Terminal in Matosinhos with 2 500 passengers on board, mostly Germans, served by 900 crew members.

MEIN SCHIFF 1 is sailing on its 13 night's voyage from the German port of Hamburg to the Spanish port of Palma de Mallorca, also visiting the ports of Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Southampton, La Coruna, Leixões, Lisbon, Cadiz, Malaga and Barcelona.

MEIN SCHIFF 1 was built in 1996 at the Meyer Werft shipyards in Papenburg (Germany) with 260 meters long, 32 meters wide and 76 522 of gross tonnage.

As usual, the Port Authority of Leixões prepared a welcome programme to celebrate the inaugural call of this amazing cruise ship. An exchange of commemorative plaques between the captain of the ship and the port authorities will be held on board. Passengers and crew will be welcomed with traditional Portuguese dances, gifts and a port wine tasting.
