Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality at Leixões

On February 26, the Porto Cruise Terminal hosted the "Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality", an iniciative by the Portuguese Ministry of Environment

Accelerate the implementation of innovative measures to "Decarbonise Mobility" and urban metabolism was the main theme of this event where experts, local and national government leaders have discussed the challenges and the opportunities of innovation in urban mobility of Horizon 2050.

Electrical and shared alternatives, ways to encourage the use of soft modes of mobility and challenges on the implementation of low carbon solutions were just some of the issues covered at the Porto Cruise Terminal.

Have attended the event José Gomes Mendes (Secretary of State Assistant And of Environment), Luísa Salgueiro (Mayor of Matosinhos) and Amadeu Rocha (Member of the Board of Directors of APDL).

The Roadmap for Carbon Neutrality emerges from Portugal's commitment to deep decarbonisation of the economy by 2050, as announced by the Portuguese Government at the last Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 22) in Paris. The roadmap suggests the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions towards a low-carbon society. Clean technologies play an important role.
