Porto Cruise Terminal nominated for the World Building of the Year 2016
The new Cruise Terminal of the Port of Leixões is one of the finalists for the World Building of the Year 2016 Award in the category of "Mixed Use" along with 11 other projects worldwide.
The World Building of the Year 2016 shortlist includes 343 entries from 58 different countries and the Porto Cruise Terminal is the only Portuguese project shortlisted for this award.
Winners will be selected from across 32 categories and announced during the World Architecture Festival 2016 taking place in Berlin next November. One project will go on to win the coveted World Building of the Year title and another will be named Future Project of the Year.
The new Porto Cruise Terminal was designed by the Portuguese architect Luis Pedro Silva and was earlier this year awarded with the International Prize for Architecture and Design from "AZAwards", having been selected from 826 projects of over 50 countries.
