On October 26, our Porto Cruise Terminal welcomes the maiden call of the AMBIENCE cruise ship
AMBIENCE is the debut cruise ship from Ambassador Cruise Line, which is also new to the port.
The ship is on a 32 days round trip from Tilbury (London) with 1.265 passengers on board, mostly from the UK.
Current itinerary: Leixões, Cadiz, Palma de Mallorca, Civitavecchia, Naples, Siracusa, Athens, Istambul, Canakkale, Kusadasi, Tel Aviv, Larnaca, Alexandria, Catania and Gibraltar.
Ambience is not a new vessel, starting life in 1991 sailing as Regal Princess for Princess Cruises, before becoming P&O Australia's Pacific Dawn (interesting fact: the ship's godmother was former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher). The ship had been due to join Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) but due to the collapse of the line in 2020, it never joined the fleet.
As usual in these occasions, a Plaque Exchange Ceremony will be held on board of the ship with Port Authorities and ship's Captain to celebrate this first call at the port.
