Leixões has just brought to a close its busiest ever cruise season with an unprecedented 96 calls

MORE THAN 94.000 PASSENGERS HAVE ALREADY VISITED LEIXÕES

 

Up to October, cruise vessels called Leixões 96 times and brought a record-breaking number of 94.137 cruise passengers, which means an increase of 37% in the number of passengers and 23% in the number of vessels over the same period of last year.

End year numbers are expected to reach 100 cruise calls and 100.000 passengers.

Porto Cruise Terminal welcomed 43 cruises and nearly 75.000 passengers. The North Cruise Terminal welcomed 53 cruises and about 19.000 passengers.

During October, three cruises were new to the port: Viking Star, Seven Seas Navigator and AidaVita. By the end of the year, a total of 12 cruise ships will have visited Leixões for the first time.

The size of ships visiting Leixões has also been increasing (37% compared to the same period last year).

Next year is already shaping up to be another record breaking year. Until now, 113 cruise ship calls are already schedule, which will bring to Porto and North of Portugal Region almost 120.000 passengers.
