MS Saga Sapphire was the first cruise ship calling Leixões in 2014
On January 3, the Port of Leixões welcomed the first cruise ship of 2014 in a total of 88 calls foreseen for this year. The elegant 37,301 tons and 200 meter long ship "Saga Sapphire" from Saga Cruises II Ltd, can host more than 700 passengers and 400 crew members.

The 638 passengers on board, mostly British, embarked at Southampton and celebrated the New Year in the city of Funchal before arriving Leixões. In addition, the cruise ship also stopped in the ports of Lisbon, Casablanca, Agadir, Arrecife, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, St. Cruz de la Palma, La Coruna and Puntilha, before returning to Southampton.
Saga Sapphire will come again to Leixões early next year.
